Of Divine Origin

Pura Luhur Uluwatu is regarded as one of the six most important temples in Bali. "Luhur" means "something of divine origin" while "Uluwatu" can be broken into "ulu" which means "land's end" and "watu" means "rock" in the old language).

Its location on the south westernmost precinct of this magical island guards the Balinese from the evil spirit of the ocean. The inner sanctum of the pura (temple) is perched majestically on the edge of a steep cliff that towers above the legendary surf breaks of southern Bali.

Located not too far from the picturesque Uluwatu Temple, we found Uluwatu Beach, this is where world-class thrilling waves meet jaw-dropping scenery. This beach is located deep under the cliff bank featured by the great and fast waves that make it as one of the best surf points in the island of paradise.

The waves are great, fast, powerful and barrel that force every surfer to use their top skill to enjoy the surf adventures here. It is one the most favorite surf points in the world for pro-surfers to execute their surf and a Mecca for wave chasing junkees who come to Bali.
