Exploring the real Bali

We are now in Eastern Bali, the quieter side of Bali. It boasts mighty volcanoes, a number of attractive beaches, elegant water palaces, scenic back roads, lush forests, enchanting rural villages and most amazing rice paddy terraces.

This is my favorite place to hang out, go for rice paddy walks and explore the real Bali. The place we chose to stay in, were the gardens of Tirta Gangga. Balinese Outdoor Living....feeling one with the nature surrounding you...is simply bliss!

Tirta Gangga water palace was built as a relaxation and recreation palace by the then King of Karangasem. The palace was destroyed by the eruption of the volcano Mount Agung, but the maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden and stone carvings and statues were magnificently rebuilt. Before and after our daily excursions, we went for late and early morning swims, as we had the royal pools all to ourselves…heaven!
